ACDEF initial field projects are being established in selected countries located in the Congo Basin forest of Central Africa and the Upper Guinean forest of West Africa.

The initial countries in the Congo Basin region include Cameroon, Gabon and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Countries of the Upper Guinean forest are Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. ACDEF will extend its operations to other countries as the organisation establishes itself in the subregion.

As indicated in the organisation’s five years strategic plan, in each of these countries ACDEF is initially working through well established like-minded partner organisations, but will, in the medium to long term, establish its own country’s programme.
